was a busy year… |
| In January and February, J.C. collaborated with Cox | McLain Environmental Consulting as their historic architecture consultant, to provide drawings and documentation of the relocation of the historic Coyle Farmstead in Rowlett, Texas. The Farmstead includes a house, a storm shelter, a chicken shed, a milking shed, a well and a garage, all of which were relocated to a new site a 1/2 mile down the road as part of the George W. Bush Turnpike project for the North Texas Tollway Authority.. |

In May "Casa Paraguas," a vacation house on Lake Buchanan designed by Merzbau Design Collective, was featured in the New York Times (see photo at right). In June, J.C. passed the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) exam, to become a LEED accredited professional. LEED is the national benchmark for the design and construction of high performance green buildings. In October, J.C. presented a lecture covering recent work titled "A Bit of Soft Ground" at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden, as part of their "Architecture at the Umlauf" lecture series. |

The year finished up with "Open Architecture East:" a tour of architecture firms located in East Austin, on December 12th. We were excited to participate in the successful event, and all proceeds went to Uplift Austin. |

We have several projects currently under construction, including an addition/remodel in Pemberton, a back house in Clarksville, and a new house in Tarrytown at Windsor and Exposition-- we hope you'll have the opportunity to drive by in the next few months to check it out! |

In March, J.C. will be participating in a cultural and vocational exchange in Osaka, Japan, sponsored by the Rotary Club. If you've always wanted a Japanese-style house, now is the time to give us a call! We'll be posting entries to a blog from our "Osaka Office" so stay tuned... The economy has taken its lumps, but we're optimistic about 2010. We look forward to participating in the resurgence of the Central Texas economy through our involvement in residential remodels, additions and new construction projects of all sizes. We're also available for consultation on home purchases. Give us a call and we'll be happy to discuss your project or offer our professional advice. Happy new year, and we'll see you in 2010! |
