This project comprises an 800-square-foot addition and remodel to a 1950s house in South Austin. The addition sits over the footprint of a demolished garage, with a metal-clad stair tower marking the point of transition from old to new. The stair tower, punctuated by windows on four sides, acts as a "light chimney" to bring daylight to the interior of the existing house.
